Terms of sale
Purpose and scope
These general terms of sale govern sales of products made on madameintentionnelle.com between Rachel Rickson & Co, a simplified joint-stock company (SAS) with its registered office at 1B chemin du Mignon, 77130 Montereau-Fault-Yonne, France (SIREN 984 297 903, SIRET 984 297 903 00010, EU VAT number FR30 984 297 903), hereafter “the seller”, and any person who buys for personal purposes, outside any professional activity, hereafter “you” or “the buyer”.
Placing an order means that you have read and accept these terms. The version in force is the one online at the time of your order. The seller may amend them; an amendment does not affect orders already placed.
These terms work together with the following documents, which form part of them: the refund and withdrawal policy, the shipping and delivery policy, the privacy policy, the cookie policy and the legal notice. Membership of the association Les Intentionnelles is governed by separate conditions (see the article Membership of Les Intentionnelles).
Last update of these terms: 9 October 2026.
Products
The site offers books, planners, merchandise (tote bags, mugs, pens), packs combining several products, digital products (ebooks), and pre-orders (see the articles Digital products and Pre-orders).
Each product page describes the essential features: title, format, number of pages for books, material and sizes for textiles. Photographs illustrate the product; slight colour variations may occur depending on screens.
Offers are valid while stocks last. If a product becomes unavailable after your order, the seller informs you without delay and refunds you within 14 days.
Merchandise is announced for the end of November 2026. A product that is not displayed with a price cannot be ordered.
Prices and delivery costs
Prices are shown in euros, including all taxes, VAT included; the seller is subject to VAT (number FR30 984 297 903). The price that applies is the one displayed when you confirm your order.
Delivery costs are added to the product price. They are calculated according to the address and the delivery method, when you order, and shown to you before payment. Delivery is free from €39 in France.
Outside the European Union, customs duties, taxes or clearance fees may be charged on arrival. They depend on your country and are your responsibility.
For orders from Africa, see the article Orders from Africa.
Ordering
You choose your products, add them to the cart, enter your delivery address, choose your payment method, then confirm. Before payment, a summary lets you check the contents, the total price and the address, and correct any mistake.
The contract is formed when you confirm your order by paying. The seller then sends you a confirmation e-mail. Keep it: it is proof of your order.
The seller may refuse or cancel an order in case of an existing dispute with the same buyer, a refused payment, an unusable address or suspected fraud. You are then informed and refunded any amount already paid.
Payment
Payment is made online, in euros, when you order, by the methods offered at the payment step: bank card (including Cartes Bancaires, Visa, Mastercard and American Express), PayPal, Shop Pay and Apple Pay. The methods available may vary depending on your country and device.
Payment is processed by the Shopify platform and its payment providers (including PayPal) over a secure connection. The seller neither sees nor keeps your full card number.
Your order is prepared once payment is validated. In case of a payment incident, the order is suspended until settled.
Delivery
Products are delivered to the address you give when ordering. Indicative delivery times, counted from dispatch, are 3 to 7 working days in France, 5 to 10 working days in the European Union and 10 to 21 working days for other countries outside the European Union.
Unless otherwise stated, the seller delivers at the latest 30 days after the contract is formed. In case of delay, you may call on the seller to deliver within a reasonable additional period; if delivery does not take place within that period, you may terminate the contract and be refunded.
Risk passes to you when you receive the parcel. On delivery, check the parcel; in case of damage or a missing parcel, tell the seller in writing as soon as possible, with photos.
Details of zones, costs, times and carriers are in the shipping and delivery policy.
Orders from Africa
Orders from readers in Africa are placed via WhatsApp Business with Rachel's partner bookseller in Dakar: you message her, pay by Mobile Money, and your order is shipped once payment is received. These orders do not go through the site's checkout.
Available products, prices, currency, delivery times and hand-over are communicated by the bookseller when you order. Payment by Mobile Money is made as part of that exchange, outside the site's checkout, in the way the bookseller indicates.
For the other articles of these terms, in particular the legal guarantee of conformity and mediation, the rights the law gives you remain applicable according to the country of sale.
Right of withdrawal
You have 14 days to withdraw, without giving a reason and without penalty. The period starts on the day you receive the product (or, for an order of several products delivered separately, the day you receive the last one).
To exercise it, notify the seller of your decision by an unambiguous statement: using the model form in the annex, or by e-mail to sav@madameintentionnelle.com, by post or from the Contact page. You may also send your request before the end of the 14-day period.
Return the product without undue delay and no later than 14 days after telling the seller of your decision, to the address given by the seller in its reply. The product must be in good condition, preferably in its packaging. The direct cost of returning it is yours. You are liable for any loss in value of the product resulting from handling other than what is needed to establish its nature and functioning.
The seller refunds all sums paid, including standard delivery costs, no later than 14 days after being informed of your decision. It may defer the refund until it has received the product or proof of dispatch. The refund is made by the payment method you used.
The right of withdrawal does not apply to products made to your specifications or clearly personalised (article L. 221-28 of the French Consumer Code).
The full procedure is in the refund and withdrawal policy. The exceptions provided by law apply, in particular for digital products (see the article Digital products).
La procédure complète figure dans la politique de remboursement et de rétractation. Les exceptions prévues par la loi s’appliquent, notamment pour les produits numériques (voir l’article Produits numériques).
Pre-orders
Some products, such as “La fin de ma naïveté, Volume 2: Un chemin de foi” (release announced for the end of October 2026), may be offered for pre-order. The product is not yet available: the release date is indicative and the product page says so clearly.
Payment of the full price is requested at the time of pre-order. The product is shipped as soon as it is available. If your order combines an available product and a pre-order, it may be shipped in one or several parcels. You are told by e-mail of each shipment.
A pre-order is still a distance sale: the 14-day withdrawal period runs from receipt of the product and you may withdraw as soon as you order.
If the product is not delivered on the announced release date, you may ask us in writing (e-mail or Contact page) to deliver it within a reasonable additional period. If it is still not delivered 30 days after the announced date, you may terminate the contract and be refunded all sums paid within 14 days (articles L. 216-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code). Termination is immediate if we refuse to deliver or if the date was an essential condition of the contract for you.
In case of a significant release delay, the seller informs you and offers you to keep or cancel your order with a refund.
Digital products (ebooks)
Some products are sold as downloadable files, such as “Le Business Planner (ebook)”, a 114-page PDF file. They are not shipped: once payment is confirmed, you receive by e-mail, and on the order confirmation page, a link to download the file, provided by the BIG Digital Download app. The file format and number of pages are shown on the product page.
The file is for your personal and private use only: any copying, sharing, resale or publication is prohibited (copyright).
Right of withdrawal. Under article L. 221-28, 13° of the French Consumer Code, you cannot withdraw from digital content not supplied on a tangible medium once its performance has begun with your prior express consent and your express waiver of your right of withdrawal. Before payment, a tick box in your cart asks for this consent and waiver; their confirmation is recorded with your order. As long as you have not started the download, you can withdraw within 14 days by writing to us.
Legal guarantee of conformity. It also applies to digital content (articles L. 224-25-12 et seq. of the French Consumer Code). If the file is faulty, does not open or does not match the product page, write to us: we will send you a conforming file or find a solution.
Legal guarantees
The seller is liable for lack of conformity of goods (articles L. 217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code) for 2 years from delivery. During that time you do not have to prove that the defect existed at delivery. You may ask for repair or replacement, then, failing that, a price reduction or termination of the contract.
The seller is also liable for hidden defects (articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code) within 2 years of their discovery.
These guarantees apply at no cost to you. To use them, write to the seller from the Contact page with your order number and photos of the defect.
Intellectual property
The content of the products (texts, illustrations, layouts, visuals, the Madame Intentionnelle brand) remains the property of its authors and owners. A purchase gives a personal, private right of use; any reproduction or distribution, in particular of planners, extracts and visuals, is prohibited without written permission.
Membership of Les Intentionnelles
Membership of the association Les Intentionnelles and access to the Academy are not shop products: they are covered by separate conditions, set out on the Membership of Les Intentionnelles page, and take place on the Circle platform. These terms of sale do not apply to them.
Personal data
The personal data you provide is used to process your order and to contact you. Its processing is described in the privacy policy, available in the footer.
Complaints and mediation
In case of difficulty, first write to the seller from the Contact page: most situations are settled directly.
If no solution is found, you may use a consumer mediator free of charge (articles L. 611-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code).
Recourse to mediation is a right: it does not prevent you from going to the competent court.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by French law. If you live in another European Union country, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence.
In case of dispute, you may bring the matter before the court of the place where you live or that of the place of delivery, at your choice, or the court competent under ordinary rules.
Model withdrawal form
To be completed and returned only if you wish to withdraw from the contract.
