Why this book?

After La fin de ma naïveté – Volume 1: Dans les relations humaines, I chose to continue this reflection with an even more personal subject: my faith.

La fin de ma naïveté – Volume 2: Chemin de foi is the story of a spiritual journey made of convictions, doubts, questioning, discoveries… and reunions.

I was born into a Christian heritage shared between my grandfather’s Catholicism and my grandmother’s Protestantism. I grew up cradled by both traditions and, the older I got, the more important my relationship with God became in my life.

Along this journey, I discovered the evangelical Christian world. I was very young then, full of zeal and driven by a deep desire to serve God. That period was a turning point for me.

That experience also deeply shaped the way I see and practice my faith, but above all it taught me one essential thing: even in environments that speak of God, discernment remains indispensable. When it is missing, certain influences, beliefs or ways of operating can take up so much room that they end up stifling our freedom, our identity and even our destiny.

That is also why this volume belongs in La fin de ma naïveté. Because my path of faith forced me to open my eyes, to discern for myself and to question my deepest certainties.

For several years, I spoke openly about my faith on social media. Quite a few people got to know me and appreciated me for it. Then, at some point, nothing. I no longer talked about it. At first, simply because of a change in editorial direction. But what began as a simple change in editorial direction gradually became a real period of inner questioning.

I explored other spiritualities, other religious traditions and other ways of understanding the world and my relationship with the divine.

I searched. A lot.

And finally, at the end of all this searching and all this questioning, I understood that my path was not to return to a faith I practiced simply by inheritance, but to consciously choose what I believe and the way I want to live my faith.

In this book, I tell that path: what I went through, what I questioned, what I discovered, what I no longer agree with and why, after all of this, I chose to return to Christ and to live my faith today in a more conscious, more personal and more aligned way.

This book is my testimony. My path of faith.
